I was an ambassador for several years at Furman, throughout my time there I received several benefits listed below.
It gave me a chance to “give back” to the school. Furman was a great school, both academically and socially. Being an ambassador gave me the opportunity to inform students of these benefits from a student perspective. So far my experience at Wake has been very fulfilling. Many student experiences cannot be described on paper or by a recruiter. For example, our MSBA cohort trivia night or the basketball group chat with many of the guys. If I were to be selected, I would have the chance to tell these stories and help prospective students understand the full scope of Wake and make an informative decision.
I developed many soft skills. Whether it was presenting facts to a large group, getting one-on-one lunch with students, or answering difficult questions on the spot, I was constantly challenged. I hope to continue to these skills here at Wake.
Lastly, I enjoy giving tours and interacting with new people. At Furman we had a very strong and diverse community. I had many friends through admissions from different corners of campus that I would have probably not met. Being an ambassador here would give me a chance to connect with classmates from MSA and MSM.
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
The Career Course was very rewarding. During the Summer course we covered all aspects of the job search process. Resume and cover letter constructing, interview prep, social network presence, how to approach connecting with alumni. The Career Search team has many resources available including LinkedIn groups, interview prep sites, resume reviewers, and alumni database networks. The benefits of this course go beyond the scope of the class. This Friday, I am meeting with my former teacher and now career coach Sally. I am going to update her on how my career search has started and she will continue to give me advice on how to move forwards. I plan to meet with her at least once a month until I land a job. From a non-academic standpoint: I have a friend a year older than me who entered this program. This is what he told me about his cohort. I have found this true for my cohort. Everyone is here for the right reasons. To better themselves, learn, and prepare for the real world. No one is here because their parents made them or because they “have to get a degree.” Everyone is friendly. Many graduate programs have the “every man for themselves mentality. In contrast, Wake tries to resemble the real world. In a job, you are not competing with your coworkers for self gain. In order to succeed, you have to work and depend on your coworkers. Wake builds an environment where we often work together to emphasize our skills.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
Reynolda Gardens. Right next to campus, this is the perfect spot to decompress. I enjoy running and try to make it out at least twice a week. There are trails in the woods, a massive garden, big open fields, and an art museum. The community there is also very friendly. Last week, I was sitting on a bench and an elderly woman sat next to me with her dog. We spent an hour or so talking about Wake, the history of Winston-Salem, and life in general.

The Graduate Admissions Ambassadors from last year's class played a huge part in why I came to Wake Forest. I was blessed with the opportunity to come to Inclusion Weekend earlier this year and tour the campus. I knew about Wake Forest's prestige and that coming in would be academically challenging. Each ambassador had their recipe for success in their respective programs and was eager to share the knowledge they had. This greatly impacted my life as coming to Wake Forest was the first time I truly invested in myself. I want to be able to have that same positive impact on someone else and share the knowledge I gained to help others be successful in their academic pursuit. While at Morehouse, I spent a lot of time studying the idea of "Ubuntu". Ubuntu means "I am because we are." We are all interconnected on our journeys. My goal in life is to be a servant leader. If I can do one thing to impact those that come after me then I am on the right track for my purpose. I believe serving as a Student Ambassador will provide me with the platform to be able to bring an infectious positive attitude that can impact those who are looking to further their academics at Wake Forest and help me leave my legacy at the University.

I chose the MSBA program because analytics are changing the way we view the world everyday. Analytics provide you with a opportunity to make a sound decision in every area of life. With me having a business background, I believe gaining the technical skills will allow me to be more profitable in the workforce. Gaining an education from Wake Forest shows that you had top notch teaching that is transferable to industry needs. Wake Forest does a great job with market readiness to make sure the material that you learn is relevant to what your industry of choice needs.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
I love Zick's on campus. It has great food and a down stairs lounge area that allow you to be able to play arcade games and air hockey. Its a great place to go with friends to unwind.

The reason that I choice MSBA is because the curriculum is second to none, but there is so much more than just the excellent classes, the staff made me feel like I matter more than a student, they cared about my success after the program, giving resources and chances to come back and help the new and incoming class.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
One of my favorite spots on campus is the foyer in Farrell Hall, I practically live in Farrell, but no day feels like the same, I always see something new around it, and there always someone new to meet, and there is always someone you know either studying, walking around, or coming by to say hi. When I think of my Farrell I think of community.

I chose to become a graduate admissions ambassador because I love Wake Forest. This university has been my home since undergrad, and I am incredibly proud to be pursuing my second degree here. When I first visited the business school, I was nervous since I hadn’t spent much time there despite being a Wake Forest undergrad. However, my graduate ambassador made the experience so welcoming, and it left a lasting impression on me. As someone who enjoys making connections and is passionate about this university, I want to share my love for Wake Forest with prospective students and help them feel as welcome as I did. The most impactful part of my program experience so far has been twofold. First, I've built real and meaningful friendships with my peers, which is especially exciting because everyone comes from different universities. Despite only being here for two months, I truly feel that these friendships will last a long time. Second, while the classes are highly informative and definitely challenging, I've never felt that any of them are 'weed out' classes. Instead, my professors genuinely want to see us learn, succeed, and apply the knowledge in the real world.
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
I chose to pursue the MSBA at Wake Forest because I wanted to bridge the gap between my technical background in Computer Science and my limited education in the business world. I'm passionate about business analytics because it allows me to combine problem-solving and storytelling while leveraging my technical skills. I also wanted to transition into a role that offers more face-to-face human interaction, moving away from a job that was purely technical. Wake Forest felt like the perfect place to make that transition, especially since it's already a place I love and am proud to call home.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
My favorite spot outside of campus but in Winston Salem is Dough-Joes. It is a small coffee and donut shop owned by a couple who graduated from Wake Forest, the husband was even part of the MSBA program. It has a small but adorable interior and a nice outdoor patio with plenty of space to do homework or catch up with friends. It is also located in Reynolda Village which has plenty of places to shop, eat, or just go for a stroll.

During my application process, both Eric and Alex were great to speak to. Their involvement and excitement made me feel very welcomed and valued. I want to evoke similar feelings to other MSBA candidates. Although I didn’t get the chance to interact with any ambassadors since I was late to the process, I would still like to do so for future MSBA students.
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
There are a few reasons why I decided to pursue MSBA here at Wake. First, getting my masters was something I’ve always wanted to do as I’m always eager to learn something new. This program will enable me to also become more proficient and comfortable using coding programs, which will set me up for success in my future career. Not only learning but being able to practice with real hands-on experiences through the practicum, it’ll only further that and make me a well-rounded candidate. As I’m from Connecticut and went to college in upstate New York, this pushes me out of my comfort zone, living in a state far away. I look for opportunities that’ll help me grow and improve. Lastly, Wake Forest has a great reputation as a school. Not to mention, the free sports game tickets in which I can attend with my friends and other classmates during my time here. That was something I really enjoyed at Syracuse.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
Although I haven't explored much of either, I really enjoy Zicks. It is such a calm vibe; great atmosphere. Great food (either flatbread pizza or chicken), but I like how you can either sit down inside, play some pool/billiards, or my favorite, sit outside at one of the tables under the trees. It's very relaxing and you can eat, do homework, or people watch.

I wanted to be an Admissions Ambassador because they were the people that led me to choose Wake's MSBA. I met with some on a visit, and they had nothing but great things to say about the program and were very welcoming. They also had expansive knowledge about the program and were able to tell me about the extracurriculars, such as the SEC's events and other things to do around Winston-Salem. Because the Admissions Ambassadors played such a pivotal role in my decision, I want to pay it forward and hopefully have the same impact on other potential students.

I wanted to be a Graduate Admissions Ambassador because I did not know anything about MSBA programs before Wake reached out to me, and I want to continue to share this opportunity with other students that would be a good fit. I also have found it very valuable to connect with other students coming from California before I began the program and since starting at Wake, and I want to be able to help other students who are on a similar path.

I chose to pursue the MSBA at Wake Forest because the program reached out to me on Handshake, and then it had the best balance between technical, business, and personal skills of any program I considered.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
One of my favorite spots in Winston-Salem is Pure Barre in Reynolda Village, because going to group workout classes there is my favorite way to start my day before I come to class, and its an easy way to schedule an hour a day for myself and take a break from studying.

I wanted to become a Graduate Admissions Ambassador because, as someone who grew up and went to undergrad on the West Coast, I have sometimes felt the culture shock of moving to the southeastern U.S. It can be lonely at times, especially since all my friends and family are out west. I want to help and encourage potential students from the West Coast by assuring them that Wake Forest is an amazing school with many opportunities for growth. I also want to be a resource for students by sharing my first-hand experience of moving across the country to attend this program.

I chose to attend the MSBA program at Wake Forest because I am passionate about the intersection of business and data. During my undergraduate studies, I explored how businesses can leverage technology and data to make informed decisions, which fueled my desire to pursue a master’s degree in business analytics. After being accepted into the program at Wake Forest, I researched the strong technical coursework and career exploration opportunities it offers. One of my favorite spots on campus is the Wellbeing Center. Over the past four years, Wake Forest has truly become a place I feel comfortable calling home, and I would love to share that experience with others. I believe Wake Forest is a university like no other, offering the perfect combination of community, opportunity, and support. Personally, my journey here hasn’t been without its challenges, but I’ve always had an extensive support system to help me navigate and overcome them. My professors, mentors, and friends were there for me every step of the way, and I think that’s a very unique quality about Wake Forest.
I’ve been fortunate to attend several events hosted by the Business School, such as Extend Your Stay and Inclusion Weekend. During these events, I had the opportunity to connect with student ambassadors who shared their experiences, tips for success, and advice on making the most of the program that I was interested in. They were able to convey to me in a way that while the program may be challenging, it is extremely fulfilling and got me really excited about the prospect! Their insights on building friendships and intentional connections left a lasting impact on me, and I would be thrilled to offer that same guidance to prospective students as a Graduate Admissions Ambassador.
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
I decided to pursue the MSBA at Wake Forest for a few reasons. Over the past two years, many of my friends completed the program, and every time they shared what they were learning, I was intrigued by how relevant and useful the content was. While my undergraduate major has been incredibly helpful in many ways, I felt the need to amp up my technical skills to become a more well-rounded candidate for the opportunities I wanted to explore and pursue. I also had the chance to interact with several faculty members, which gave me a strong sense of comfort in choosing to pursue a graduate degree in Business Analytics. Their expertise and approachability made a significant impact on my decision. Lastly, multiple meetings with Alex Peoples and John White helped resolve any doubts or questions I had, further solidifying my choice.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
My favorite place on campus, and I think Winston Salem would be included too, is the Reynolda Trail that leads to Reynolda Village.I absolutely love going on walks and runs with my friends along the trail—it’s the perfect way to take a break and soak in the beauty around us. Sometimes, we’ll grab a coffee and donut at Dough Joe’s or Penny Path after, or even get some work done! It’s one of those spots that lets me really appreciate how accessible and peaceful the campus is, offering both nature and community all in one place.

I only found out about this program from another student that was going to attend Wake Forest already. I know it is still early in the program but I can already say this program has really changed me as a person in a very positive way. The focus on power skills in this program is unlike other programs and has really stood out to me. I want to be able to explain my experience to prospective students so hopefully they can make the choice to come here like I did and change their lives for the better.

I chose the MSBA program because I had a concentration in business analytics in undergrad and I found those classes very interesting. I thought this program would be a good way to leverage my finance background and refine my technical and power skills.

The area around Poteat Hall. There is great food options and fun games to play inside. There is also a nice outside shaded area and it is a great spot to hang out with friends.

I wanted to become a Graduate Admissions Ambassador because I would love to share my positive experiences and advice thus far with prospective students, helping them navigate their decision-making processes. I believe my personable skills, enthusiasm for this amazing program, and desire to contribute to the university community will allow me to effectively represent the MSBA program and motivate others to join. Back at my undergrad, I was Vice President of the Culinary Club and we would have a ‘Student Showcase’ before the beginning of each fall semester. I got the opportunity to talk to freshmen and any other students interested in the club to join and attend our monthly events. I would get so excited for the first ‘Potluck’ event of the year because I wanted to see all the new faces and just bring a sense of community that would make everyone feel welcomed and connected. It was such a satisfying and happy moment to see everyone with a smile on their face!
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
I did my undergraduate in Business Analytics and really enjoyed the content as well as the idea of having the tools to make data-driven decisions that create impact. Before I started college I knew I wanted to do 2 things - study abroad and go to grad school. Those 2 things were my motivators going into higher education (and I achieved them!). When I did my tour and class visit at Wake, I sat in on a Probability & Statistics course and I honestly learned so much in the hour that I was sitting there. After my visit, I looked more into the curriculum and I loved how Wake Forest emphasized students taking classes that are in different industries of analytics to decide what they love and want to do in the future. Having the opportunity to work with outside companies also reeled me in even more because I am a firm believer that learning in real-world environments offers invaluable experiences that go beyond classroom lectures. So with this, I am so happy with my decision!
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
I do most of my exploring in Farrell Hall so I would have to speak on my favorite spot(s) in Winston-Salem which are Krankies and/or Bailey Park. I live in the direct vicinity of both of these places so I have found comfort in them. Krankies is such a fun environment - you can go get a bit to eat with friends and gossip (their biscuits are amazing!) or go in, get a coffee, and grind on schoolwork, there are so many possibilities. It is the perfect place to people-watch also which I love to do. Bailey Park is also one of my favorites because of the amount of activities it holds - from sunrise yoga, movies in the park, or the occasional concert. I love that I can walk out of my apartment building, walk across the street, and almost always see something going on.

What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
One of my favorite spots in Winston-Salem is the Innovation Quarter downtown because I like all the options to do there. They have food trucks, bands, and free yoga in the park. There are also fantastic restaurants and a fun brewery to hang out with friends. One thing I like on campus is the trail that connects campus to Reynolda village, it is a good walk for a study break and to grab lunch!

My greatest skill is my ability to connect with people, getting to know them and finding common interests and building comradery. I am a Double Deac and love Wake Forest and even my brother is now attending the University as a first year, and my constant yapping about the MSBA program and the business school in general has swayed him to consider applying to the business school. I think that my passion for this institution is contagious and will certainly spread to prospective students who are interested in attending Wake.
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
I chose to pursue the MSBA program because I was interested in learning some of the hard skills with programming and analytical tools in order to support my desire to go into a jury consultant role. I love problem solving and I also love the law, therefore this program has been a blessing in its ability to prepare me for my goals.

I think that my favorite spot on campus has to be the waterfall in Reynolda Gardens. It is such a beautiful place that instantly puts my mind at ease. In Winston Salem, I think that my favorite spot is the Quarry Park. It is peaceful and fun to see all of the families playing or looking out to the city.

Coming from a diverse Jamaican background and having been surrounded by people from all walks of life, I feel especially prepared to engage with prospective students in meaningful and authentic ways.
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
I chose the MSBA program at Wake Forest because I wanted to push myself beyond my comfort zone and acquire skills in areas I hadn’t explored before. I had never coded, I was never the best at math, nor did I see myself in STEM, but I was determined to challenge myself and try something new. My experience with Eric, my MSBA contact, was incredibly positive—he made me feel welcomed and confident that I could succeed. His encouragement, paired with my determination to constantly improve, made this program the ideal challenge for me.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
My favorite spot on campus is the outdoor lounge area by the rocking chairs outside of Farrell Hall. It’s a beautiful, peaceful space where I’ve shared meaningful moments with friends—whether it’s catching up, getting work done, or just decompressing. It's also the perfect spot to see professors, career coaches, students from multiple different programs within the business school, and prospective students visiting. This spot has become a hub for connection and support, making it feel like "our space."

I wanted to become a Graduate Admissions Ambassador for Wake Forest's MSBA program because I strongly believe in its value for career growth and skill development. Having received incredible support from the admissions team as an international student and scholar, I'm eager to pay it forward and contribute to the program's future.
As a newcomer to Winston-Salem, I'm excited to explore the campus and town while engaging with prospective students, which I would likely not have the chance to do otherwise. Interacting with prospective students would allow me to meet new people and build friendships with them. I am always looking forward to expanding my social community.
I understand that attracting high-quality students is crucial for Wake Forest's growth and future collaborations. Being a part of SEC, I am committed to contributing to the business school's betterment, and serving as an Ambassador aligns with my goal. This role allows me to combine my confidence in the MSBA program, gratitude towards Wake Forest, and desire to connect with others into one meaningful position.
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
Wake Forest's MSBA program was my top choice due to its comprehensive curriculum covering the exact skills I want to develop before entering the workforce. As a psychology and philosophy major, I was drawn to the program's flexible, interdisciplinary approach, which aligns with my educational values. Unlike many other business analytics programs, Wake Forest's MSBA welcomes applicants from diverse academic backgrounds, allowing me to contribute a unique perspective. Additionally, before deciding on Wake Forest, I spoke to alumni of the MSBA program, who were all extremely helpful and warm. I am excited for the opportunity to have the same effect on prospective students.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
The golf course pathway is one of my favorite spots on campus, its a beautiful sight and a pleasant place to work (on the tables nearby), in case someone likes working outdoors.

During my first tour at Wake Forest, I was warmly welcomed by Shandra, who made me feel seen and valued in a way my undergraduate experience never quite did. Despite spending three years at my previous school, I often felt overlooked, struggling to find a true sense of belonging. That initial encounter at Wake Forest showed me what a supportive community really feels like. As a Graduate Admissions Ambassador, I want to be that person for others—the one who makes them feel like they’ve found their place. No student should go through college feeling isolated, and I’m passionate about helping create a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone feels like they matter.
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
I felt that the MSBA program would help further my education along with increasing my connections both personally and professionally. This would eventually allow me to further hone in on what I want as a career and help me go for it!
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
The swing outside of Farrel Hall is one of my favorite spots on campus. As a child I would always go on the swing set outside that we had in our backyard to take a moment, relax, and enjoy life. It's a practice that followed me as I grew up and became an adult. Even now I will out my headphones in and go swing allowing me to relax and feel like a kid even with all of my adult responsibilities. It's therapeutic for me and gives me a sense of home here on campus.

I wanted to give back to the school. I had such an amazing recruitment process. It was done perfectly and ultimately led to my decision to choose Wake Forest. Because of this, I want to give the perspective students the same process I received when applying.
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
I chose to pursue the MSBA at Wake Forest because at this time last year I did not feel ready to enter the workforce. Given the reputation of the program, I felt as if this was the best path for me to take to get where I want to be.
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
One of my favorite spots is Reynolda Village. Not only is it a great place to get a bit to eat or go and explore the shops, but it is also a great place to exercise and check out the Reynolda House and gardens. Also, you get the plus of being accessible from campus.

I remember what it was like navigating my post-grad journey, as it was not that long ago, and I love being able to help people going through that same thing. I want to guide people who have been in the same boat as me and provide comfort to them, answer their questions, and excite them for what their future holds (hopefully at WFU School of Business)!
Why did you choose to pursue the MSM/MSBA/MSA at Wake Forest?
I have a background in the humanities but wanted to explore how I could improve my technical skills to make a stronger impact. I think connecting humans and data in a comprehensive way and not sacrificing one for the other is super important!
What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
Walking around Reynolda Gardens is definitely one of my favorite spots! I love to run or walk with friends or just go there by myself to recenter. It’s so beautiful and definitely takes you out of focusing on whatever you’re stressed about and instead focus on the beauty around you.

What is one of your favorite spots on campus and/or Winston-Salem? Why?
My favorite spot in WS is downtown, specifically the area around Bailey Park with Cugino Forno and Incendiary Brewing. The outdoor space is amazing - it is modern but still retains the industrial history that Winston is known for. The shops, restaurants, and trails around Reynolda Village are a close runner-up.

I was eager to become a Graduate Admissions Ambassador as I believe I offer a distinctive perspective to potential Wake Forest School of Business graduate students, particularly those considering the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program. My background as a business analytics student from the University of Tennessee, coupled with my entrepreneurial experience and internship in business development, positions me uniquely to showcase the benefits of Wake Forest's graduate programs. As someone from the Southeast who chose Wake Forest for advanced studies, I can relate to students who might not initially have Wake Forest on their radar.
